FREE NEIGHBORHOOD PANTRY - DUNCANVILLE, TX

On the corner of W. Center Street and Tanglewood, in Duncanville, a mini food pantry has sprung up to meet the needs of the neighborhoods surrounding it. Gregory DeLeon, an eighteen year old senior at Bishop Dunn High School wanted to do a senior project while school is closed, and his cousin, Trinity Davila, a third grader at St. Elizabeth’s wanted to help.

Ben Franklin Apothecary

The second oldest business in Duncanville, Ben Franklin Apothecary is an iconic establishment in the heart of town. Back in 1964, Duncanville’s Ben Franklin had no pharmacy or deli; it was just a five & dime general store. They sold trinkets, basic necessities, candies, Over the years, they’ve adjusted to changing shopping patterns, offering fresh, unique, trendy items and continue to evolve and change in order to stay relevant and serve the community.

HOPE/Coping During Covid-19

Having had panic disorder for something like 10  years, begnning with my 5th pregnancy (1994), I was forced to come up with coping mechanisms which, as it turns out, I am able to resurrect and apply to today's crisis!

A key part of my regime at the time, when my symptoms were at their worst, was to break every day down into 15 min. increments. While waking up and staring at an endless tunnel full of 24 hour days was horribly overwhelming, I found I could at least muster the will to manage 15 minutes!
